Happy National Tooth Fairy Day!
As you can imagine National Tooth Fairy Day is a big deal to the Tess the Tooth Fairy team. We look forward to this day all year long, because it gives us an excuse to celebrate our favorite cool and tech savvy tooth fairy—Tess!
Tess recently sat down with us for an exclusive interview offering a glimpse into her daily life, her hobbies, and her demanding job as the tooth fairy. Here is what we found out about our favorite fairy:
1. Morning routine
Tess is not an early riser. Since her nights are filled with essence-collecting escapades, Tess usually sleeps in and wakes around 10 AM. She starts the day by drinking a small glass of electrolyte water to replenish her body. Then she heads to one of the gardens outside of her castle for mid-morning yoga.
2. Breakfast
After mid-morning yoga, Tess eats a simple breakfast: more water and a small bowl of fruit with greek yogurt. Tess only eats and drinks things that are healthy for her teeth. Her motto is, “Healthy smile. Healthy body.”
3. Favorite hobbies
You would think that a tooth fairy would be too busy for hobbies. But somehow, Tess finds time for her favorite pastimes. Tess loves taking a walk in the gardens around her castle or in the village in Tessland. She likes being in the sunshine and fresh air and visiting with friends. Tess also enjoys gardening and has several gardens around the castle that she takes care of with the help of the fairy brigade.
4. Essence
Our readers were eager to know more about essence and why Tess doesn’t always collect the tooth. Tess and one of her closest fairy friends learned about essence while conducting research for their oral anatomy class. Essence is the innermost part of a tooth that keeps it healthy and strong. Tess and her friend discovered how to safely extract the essence from a tooth without disturbing the regenerative powers. Together, they invented a special tool (the Tesstacular Tool) that could be used to extract the essence from any tooth. When a child loses a tooth and Tess visits, she uses the Tesstacular Tool to ping the tooth and collect the essence. She leaves the tooth as a keepsake along with a special note and a gold coin. Tess uses the magical powers of the essence to keep her castle shiny and bright. Now that’s pretty cool!
5. Tessland
Tessland is located in Fairyland. Tess built Tessland many years ago using the magical powers of essence. She lives there in a beautiful castle along with the fairy brigade who help Tess with tooth fairy duties and taking care of the castle. There are many other fairies who live throughout Tessland. The fairies are always busy, but it is a happy place filled with fun and smiling faces.
6. Early life
Tess was an only child. Her parents died when she was young, but they had very good friends who took care of her and made sure that she attended school and had a good life just like all of the other fairies.
7. Special achievements
Tess was the valedictorian of the Fairy Flight Academy. She was the fastest fairy, setting the academy record for the most zoomies flown in 1 minute. She also received the highest marks in her class.
8. The fairy brigade
The fairy brigade are Tess’ closest friends who live with her in Tessland and help her with tooth fairy duties and taking care of the castle. Tess’ parents died many years ago, so the fairy brigade are like her family.
9. Biggest challenge
Tess’ biggest challenge is eating right and staying healthy. It takes a lot of energy to handle tooth fairy duties every night. Tess has to eat plenty of fruits and vegetables and drink lots of water to stay healthy and strong. That is why she has several gardens around the castle. Tess says that growing her own food reminds her of the importance of eating well.
10. Advice for kids everywhere
“Eat well, floss, and brush twice a day, and your beautiful teeth will be A-OK!”
